HE LOWERED his head and did not deny it when asked if he was linked to the current police investigation into an online vice syndicate.
The former principal in his late 30s, who resigned unexpectedly last December, was stopped by reporters of the Chinese newspaper Shin Min Daily News at the entrance of the upscale condominium where he lives, at 7.30pm on Saturday.
He was dressed in a dark blue shirt and khaki-coloured pants, while the woman was in a white T-shirt and a black pair of shorts.
The former principal, who has a child, is among scores of men who were questioned by the police investigating an online prostitution ring.
He is believed to be a client of the online vice ring, which operated a brothel out of a condominium.
Several other public servants are also believed to be helping with the investigations.
He declined to reply to further questions from Shin Min and politely requested the reporters to leave.
He was an official of a national youth team and recently resigned from a key position at a sports association, reported Shin Min.
A former student, who was taught by him when he was still a teacher, said he was popular among students as he truly cared for them and was self-sacrificial.
